Google local search

The QNX CAR application platform now allows drivers and passengers to find close points of interest (POIs) using Google local search – restaurants, gas stations, coffee shops, parks, ATMs, hospitals, and the like.

These POIs are dynamically displayed on Google maps as the vehicle’s route is tracked. Drivers and passengers can select each POI for additional information such as full street address and phone number.

OEMs and tier ones can customize POI categories with a simple edit of an XML configuration file.
